London 's festival scene is incredibly busy. With more than 20 major festivals taking place across the capital this summer, London really is a melting-pot of music, merriment and no doubt, misdemeanour. There really is no-shortage of opportunity, from Dance to Disco, Reggae to Rap, whatever your taste there is a festival with your name on it.
But which events should you go to and more importantly, what sunglasses should you wear? Perhaps you fancy a disco all-dayer? If so, why not check out One Day At The Disco which brings together some of the most exciting acts of our time for a day of soaring disco and thumping house on East London's Three Mills Island. For this you almost certainly need to be wearing a pair of '1970's'‚ these frames were designed in tribute to that very decade. An era of extravagance, indulgence, disco and dancing. Handmade from a super lightweight stainless steel and fitted with high-grade two base, high gloss sun lenses, these are the perfect sunglasses to take you dancing from day to night.
Or perhaps you 're more suited to a warehouse rave? Why not check out Eastern Electrics (on 3-4th August) at Morden Park to see the likes of Kenny Dope, Orbital and Redlight hit the decks. There are two absolutely perfect frames to fit your raving needs; the '1990's' or the 'Wow'. Both are unmitigated rave shades and they'll mask the sins of any hedonist. The WOW is a particularly special frame; an Oliver Goldsmith ICON, this sunglass was originally designed in 1967 and features a highly unusual, 90-degree curve, it's literally a perfect 'mask'.
Perhaps you 're after something a little more cultured? The 'Meltdown Series ' (3-11 August) is curated by producer, musician and sonic trendsetter Nile Rodgers. It takes place at the Southbank Centre and is packed full of collaborations, world-wide one-offs and unmissable nights. From the lazy rhythms of neo-soul collective Jungle to rock legends Mali or Johnny Marr. Like any dedicated rocker, sunglasses must be worn at all times and I 'd suggest the '1950's' or DEAN‚ which features pastel coloured tinted lenses, perfect for that indoor/outdoor vibe. From British Summer Time and Lovebox Festival to On Blackheath and more, whatever your music taste, you know London will provide. Making a statement at a festival has never been more significant and Oliver Goldsmith has countless wonders that will make you standout from the crowd. Check out the '1920's'‚ with inbuilt blinkers you can quite literally block out the crowds, or the Yuhu - This OG icon was originally designed for Audrey Hepburn in 1966 for her movie 'Two for the Road', but went on to grace the pages of almost every fashion magazine throughout the 1960's and was even worn by the one and only Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones‚ now you can 't get more rock n roll than that.
