This years' Annual Grammy Awards were a clear celebration of female talent; with big wins from superstars such as Dua, Cardi B, Kacey Musgraves and of course the iconic Lady Gaga.
There were tributes to power houses Dolly Parton and Diana Ross , and even former first lady Michelle Obama made an appearance. She spoke alongside Jada Pinkett- Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga about the unifying power of music.
'Whether we like country or rap or rock, music helps us share ourselves, our dignity and sorrows, our hopes and joys' She said. 'It allows us to hear one another, to invite each other in.'

Lady Gaga was nominated for five awards at this years Grammy Awards, winning three of the five. 'Shallow' , the song that featured in the Oscar-nominated 'A Star is Born' won her Best Pop Duo/Group Performance as well as Best Song Written For Visual Media, along with a win for Best Pop Solo Performance for 'Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Goin?)'
On winning, Lady Gaga thanked co-star and director Bradley Cooper and used her speech to highlight the film 's mental health message, telling the audience 'If you see someone that 's hurting, don't look away.' She performed 'Shallow' with a legendary performance alongside British DJ Mark Ronson. Her performance was reminiscent of her pop icon days, a display of exuberant dancing, sparkling catsuits and electric guitars. Gaga 's reign as one of life 's ' living icons is relentless and her artistic ambitions in both the smash hit film and on stage continue to define her as someone who is essentially, indefinable. She really is a star that is born and reborn, again and again.
